Copy into Copilot Agent Builder

Copilot agent examples, rebuilt from real-world GPTs.

Six assistants teams commonly build in ChatGPT, shown as the custom GPT and as the Copilot agent that replaces it. Copy the instructions into Agent Builder, or paste one of your own GPTs into the chat below and see it rebuilt.

How to use these in Agent Builder

1. Put the files in SharePoint

Create the library each example names, and give access only to the people who should see it. Copilot respects those permissions.

2. Create the agent

In Microsoft Copilot, open Agent Builder, name the agent and paste the instructions.

3. Add knowledge and starters

Point the agent at the SharePoint library and add the starter prompts.

4. Test, then share

Try it with real questions from the team, then share it with the people who need it. Publishing org-wide goes through Copilot Studio and admin approval.

Questions we hear most

Can I import my custom GPT into Copilot?

There is no import. Each GPT is rebuilt: the instructions are rewritten for Copilot, the files move to SharePoint, and actions become Copilot Studio connectors. The chat on this page does the first draft of the rewrite for you.

What are Agent Builder's limits?

Agent Builder accepts instructions of up to 8,000 characters and knowledge from websites, SharePoint and OneDrive, Teams, Outlook, connectors, and up to 20 uploaded files. Copilot Studio allows up to 500 knowledge sources per agent.

Do these agents cost extra?

Agents that use only instructions or public websites cost nothing extra for Copilot Chat users. Agents that use company data such as SharePoint are billed by usage for Copilot Chat users.

What about GPTs that call other systems?

Custom actions become Copilot Studio connectors or MCP servers. They are the part of a migration that takes the most work, so they are mapped in the assessment.
